This Greater Prairie Chicken is at the peak of its booming display. The sun is just breaking the horizon and is producing the reddish tones. This image was taken from a blind at a booming ground (lek) in April in western Minnesota. 40D, 500 f/4, 1/125, f/4, ISO 400. Comments are welcome.

To add to all of the above; the low camera angle is a compelling aspect of the image. 1st rate.

Beautiful image. I love these birds. We have the lesser version in New Mexico, a tiny bit smaller with reddish boom. They are great fun to observe and photograph.
