Gull landing on the Skagit Tide Flats

I think this is a Herring Gull, but not sure. Although a very common bird, I liked the morning light and setting.

Moving well to your right for the proper light angle would have been a great move for several reasons. You would have had a much cleaner water background and the bird's head would not have been partially hidden by the raised wing.

The look back and raised wings are nice, but I have to agree that a POV further to the right would have improved the composition.

Nice wing stretch and catch light. Further right, as mentioned, would have worked even better.
