I find dragons very hard to shoot with all that depth in those large bodies and wings. I took a different approach, rather than fight with the depth of field I just decided to shoot this wide open. Thats what you do when you lack the skills :(to shoot small critters, make them abstracts.:D Looks like it needs a little noise ninja. Not even sure if I posted this before.:confused:

I'm in the same boat. I don't have the patience for tripods and macros so I'm always shooting with shallow dof. So this is my kind of shot. Really nice comp Mike. I might like a bit more punch, at least in the eyes.

Works for me! I love that middle set of legs hooked on to the plant stem so the frong legs are free to work the room. I agree that a bit more punch might be nice but it's really nice as presented as well.

I would like to see this as a vertical image. Otherwise its ok but not my favorite of your Mike :-)

you are right NR would help also.
