Here's a tough shot.....1. Glare off the water in front of the subject.
2. Very dark nearly black subject right next
to a very bright white subject.
This is where you never use your auto setting, it will take the black and white and
give you an averaged gray image sooooo for this shot I used
Canon 5D camera
Sigma 800mm F5.6 prime lens
ISO 100
Manual 1/1000sec
The subject is a "Blue Morph" and a "Normal" white snow goose.
I am light years behind in knowledge from some of our moderators like Fabs or Artie and I am anxious to hear what could be done better here.

I think you did a great jon on the exposure. It would have been nice though if the birds in the background were not there. They are a bit distracting. Also it would be nice to have some more space above the heads.

Hillebrand,
Thanks for the edit, actually this shot was taken with 3-5,000 geese in a bay, no chance for a nice clear clean shot.
In the next moment the blue morph turned to the left away from the white goose (I have that shot as well) But I agree it
would be nice to be able to exert more control over our subjects but this shot was just too good to pass up.
Thanks
Larry
