Just want to add/ask: "is there a way to lighten that reflection in the water?" I just think it might improve the image.

Denise,
Nice image! great head angle and composition. Can you bring out the eye at all? My daughter and I spent 12 months photographing a family of swans. so I understand the 500mm. lol. how wild is this individual?

I like this but for the reflection of the other bird that merges with your subject... Sharp with a good exposure and the stalk is a big plus.
