This Image was captured at a falconry demo during the hawk migration festival at Lighthouse Point in New Haven, CT.
Note the bell and radio antenna. Canon 40D 500 mm F/4L 1/3200 s @ f/5.6 ISO 800 hand-held.

Nice flight shot I love the angle of capture if it was mine I would add more room to the left taking away the squarish crop.If you don't have this in the original just add some canvas to the left side. Also I see a real strong halo around the bird..... These are all things that can be fixed in PS. Thanks For Sharing!

Not quite sure how I introduced the halo. It didn't appear in the original RAW file. I did apply Defin2 for noise reduction, but
that didn't introduce the halo either. In any event, I'd appreciate any references to how to remove halo's in PS.
Thanks

Hi Jack. My guess it that maybe you may have made a global shadow adjustment, which can cause halos. It can be prevented by masking out the bg before applying that adjustment.

Reprocessed and modified the crop. This time the halo is reduced. Perhaps it was an overzealous highlight/Shadow

Jack
The repost certainly demonstrates what an excellent image this is. The shadow/highlight tool is a wonderful tool....provided that it's used in moderation and applied just to the areas where needed. Well done with this one.
