Captured on a rock in Katmai. Hand-held from boat. Mark III, 500mm. There were 2 birds, however the f/4 didn't give much DOF, hence I put the two together in Photoshop from two images.

Wow, what a nice job, I would not have known. Beautiful exposure and a nice background, I just find the green bit behind the left bird a bit distracting. Two feet up and two open beaks....I guess that is a two thumbs up image.

HI Susan,

Love the behavior and light. Look a little tight for my taste and this image can use a little more sharpening!

Keep up the good work!

Great interaction, light and BG. I might add a tad more room and increase the contrast a little bit.

Hi Susan; The image is technically excellent. However, it is an example of what I would consider a compositional problem. Here we have two equally weighted elements competing for the attention of the viewer. The result is the eye darting back and forth, not being able to settle down on a point of interest or focal point. Just something to think about. regards~Bill

I quite agree with you, Bill. It was fun as an exercise.
