After 3 months of break, I went back to birds. I created this image last weekend. For the first time I use my flash in full manual. Here it's at 1/16 of full power. I think I will stay in that mode for now on...

Nice one Francis, I like the pose with perfect head angle. I'm not sure about the dark band at very bottom - easily croppable. I would also look at toning down the many highlights on the perch. All-in-all quite good!

Francis I agree with Dan about the head turn. I also like the details, the overall exposure and the bird's orange legs. Perhaps a setting of F6.3 would have made the OOF rock in the foreground less defined since it tends to draw my eye. Cropping some off the bottom (Dan's other suggestion) may minimise the distraction of the rock.

Love it, light is nice, pose and detail are excellent, BG is wonderfull and colours are as great. Maybe I would crop some from the bottom as there is too much dark brown for my taste. Still, great one! Congratulations!
