This weekend 9/20 and 21, is the annual Wings and Water festival sponsored by the Wetlands institute of Stone Harbor. It's a 2 day festival and information can be found at http://www.wetlandsinstitute.org/wnw.html After the day one activities, my wife and I will probably travel down to Cape May and where the hawk watch is gearing up. I'll try to post some of the sighting numbers for anyone interested. I can also report that the once famous bird sanctuary in the middle of Stone Harbor is being resurrected with a major cleanup and removal of fragmites and other nasties that were chocking off the habitiat. They are even constructing some walkways part way into the area. This is all in an attempt to bring back the many birds who came in the spring for nesting and breeding. I'll try to keep the folks in this area informed if you're interested.
