After dealing with progressive paralysis for nearly three years, we had to make the hard choice to let him go tonight.

Jim, I'm so sorry. We recently had to go through that and i know how terribly terribly difficult it is. Even though the decision is correct, it doesn't make it any easier.

As the resident Dog Lady on the list, I really feel for you. What a wonderful photo to form a nidus for good memories.

Heck of a way to get a blog started, but I had to something.

Jim, I'm so sorry to hear about Sam. It might be the most humane thing to do for your buddy but it doesn't feel so good for us. No matter how many times you have to do this, it never gets easier. Having your other buddies around does help a bit and I know you have lots of great memories of Sam.

Sorry for your loss, Jim. I've had to make this decision twice before as well. These amazing creatures just can't be with us as long as we'd like. But we can give them the best life possible while they are here, and I'm sure Sam had it great!

Jim !!! It is the hardest to part with our friends and My heart aches for you at this time. We have three little hot dogs that are now 12, 13 1nd 14 and I am dreading that moment. I do know that all your pets are very fortunate to have you as their owner . I will be thinking of you.

I am so sorry for your loss, Jim. Your story of Sam's time with you brought me to tears. I know it meant everything for Sam to be in your arms as he made his transition. I can just see him running to his loving dad at the bridge when the time comes! My thoughts are with you and your wife. Bud

So very sorry, Jim, what a pretty little guy; just think what his life might have been like had he not found you! I know how sad this is for you, been there too many times....bless you for all you did to give him the best life possible, infirmities and all.

Geez, Jim. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes thinking of you, your family, Sam and my own creatures from times past. I guess we wouldn't cry if we didn't love them so much.

Thanks again everyone. Tammy and I did a photo fundraiser for a rescue group the week before we lost Sam. The president of the rescue made us a glass ornament and a box with a glass lid that both had a corgi on them. She had used Sam for the her model and had made them to say thanks. They were special then, but even more so now. the box will hold Sam's tags and a few other special memories. We made a small memorial to him where he used to sleep. We've left his bed there for now as well.

We'll be donating his doggie wheel-chair to someone, so if you know of a need . . . other wise we'll donate it back through the maker which was Eddie's Wheels.

He looks like a very nice dog...
