Hi Guys,

Sometimes nature can be strange....
This weekend after receiving a call from a friend i found this leucistic Eurasian Coot swimming between his black friends. The animal has been seen at this spot last year so i guess he's allright, but it sure is a strange sight...
Unfortunately i could only shoot from a high POV.....as where i would have preferred a lower angle...Light conditions where also not optimal so i could not go much higher as F8 when perhaps getting the black bird in focus would have been nicer too...
Sometimes we just take what we can get...

Hi Jeroen

Having the 'normal' bird OOF adds to this image for me. It's clear enough to see that it is a another Coot in regular plumage and soft enough to add a second surreal element to the image (the white Coot being the first surreal element). If both birds were crisp it would be a picture of a white Coot and a black Coot that was more scientific and less artistic.

edit: lower angle would be nice to make a different image, but you would lose the matching poses side-by-side.
