Muriwai Sunset

This was taken above the Gannet colony at Takapu Refuge at Muriwai Beach on the top platform. About 1,200 pairs of adult gannets nest here each summer and can be seen between August and March each year.

7 images taken at max frame rate to try and reduce the issues with merging images in photomatix, as water came be a big problem with ghosting etc.

The image shows two nesting sites of the three located at Takapu Refuge.
