I happened to be in Spain earlier this month and had the opportunity to do some bird photography. Jorge and Juan from BPN were kind enough to outline some opportunities in the greater Valencia area (for details: http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17228).

This Squacco Heron was photographed from a hide at the Riet Vell Reserve in the Delta Del Ebro. Thank you for looking. JR

very good composition. the BG is not the most beautiful but you made the best out of it. Maybe you can play a little with Photoshop to make it a little more pleasing.

Nice bird, I like the crop and the bg isn't so bad but it does need some NR.

I like the soft light and eye contact. It might work as vertical crop, too. Maybe some NR on the BG.
