Hooded mergansers in breeding season. She looks ready, but he looks as though (if I may anthropomorphize a bit) he's just not ready to settle down into a dual harness. In order to avoid bisecting the couple with the far shoreline, I got up from my belly and elevated slightly.

While we are anthropomorphizing, maybe he is a little obtuse or simply scared. :) Great interaction but the birds look a bit soft on my monitor.

Thanks, Axel. I think a little lassoing and selective sharpening will do the trick there. I think the rock need some too.
