This is a nearly full frame image of a Sanderling. The sun was mostly shining that morning, but we had intermittent cloud cover. That's when I took this image. I like the complimentary colors that overcast skies produce when photographing this species of bird.

Yes, overcast conditions really help with the whites of certain shorebirds. Nice one of this adult non-breeding plumage bird. I like all the grays here too.

Very lovely image Doug with great detail and I love the contrasting colors of the sanderling and the BG. Beautiful composition and good low angle.

Beautiful work, Doug. You should try converting this to B&W and give us a look down in the OOTB forum.

It's not far removed from B&W as presented Julie. Not a bad idea though!

Almost monocrome, VERY nice, I like it, exposure looks great, pose, and sharpness are outstanding and the angle is perfect!

Wonderful low perspective, eye contact and subdued tones. Also like the focus band across the image.
