Well, usually I am out chasing after the birds--but they are pretty scarce around here right at the momernt. Can't wait for the fall migration.
But in the meantime, I am getting a bit interested in Macro. This is my first real attempt, albeit with a 300/2.8 and a 2X TC from 15 ft. away! LOL! I've got a little macro lens and some tubes on the way--so I am excited about this.;):D
Local dragonfly--not sure of the id. Liked its cattly expression.

Hi Bonnie,

Nice and sharp and all the warm tones in the subject and BG are nice, especially the metallic details in the wings and body. Nice grin.

I normally don't like dead perches but this one matches the colors with the rest of the image.

Wow...if you did this with a 300mm I can't wait to see what you do with the macro lens! I find myself wishing that a little more of the insect was in focus (especially some of the back wings) but overall, this is a really nice image. You might try toning down the brightness on the perch as it feels a little "hot."

Nice first d-fly, Bonnie. The image looks sharp particularly given f/8. And the colors look great. I still trying to nail down a d-fly image that I am happy with. Nice job.
