This image was taken with 1D MK3, EF100 2.8 lens ISO400 f4 1/250th sec.
I found the bug refreshing itself on my water feature in the back garden. After I had taken a few shots I noticed the Nymph.
Trying to get a good angle was difficult and this was also hand held.

Great frame-filling image of such a small critter Pete. You appear to have focused to get the nymph sharp leaving the near side of adult and its eye in soft focus. Probably the only way around this would be to encourage the nymph foreward a little so it was on the same plane as bugs ege.

That nymph really makes this photograph. I will move this one to the Macro and Flora forum as I believe it does belong there.

Hey Pete, great looking subject and neat little nymph. The critter has some really cool dew and colors in its back, and a little more depth of field would be nice to bring in more of those details. I see you handheld the shot so if your like me, very shaky, you may not have been able to raise the f-stop and slow the shutter speed. Still a very cool shot.
