Nice sharpness. I would have gone with a little more + EC or some fill flash on this one. Detail in the darks may be salvageable with RAW processing and PS work. I like the crop. Thanks for posting!

Nice closeup. I like the eye contact in this one. It could go a bit brighter for my taste and I might selectively sharpen head and bill. Could you post some techs?

Lovely head turn and close up. Using Levels or Curves in CS3 will allow you to bring more details!

I like the crop and pose. Fill flash would have been good here, but you should be able to bring out more detail in the eye area especially in PS.

Fill flash woul've helped so much here, specially to bring up the eyes, still very nice shot. Congratulations!

cool shot Craig, not the prettiest bird I have seen!! But I am not a big fan of gulls... i think some levels, or curve adjustments in PS would help fine tune this one, but I am not very good at it myself. I don't agree with the flash myself, I think if there was a shadow there, then so be it.

Good shot. Great sharpness - this must have been challenging to frame and focus as they can move fast. I agree some fill flash would have helped (not to remove the shadow but jsut lighten it enough to show detail in it better) and a little + exposure compensation. Tube noses are fascinating birds.
