Great shot Loukie, light looks nice and soft and has keep good detail in the lights and darks. Looks as though he/she has had a good feed with that full crop

great shot. beautiful light and perfect composition. I like the head angle and the stone on which the bird is sitting.

Fanastic pose, perch, angle and light with a very pleasant BG. Love the eye contact. Too bad that the eye is almost covered by the nictitant membrane.

Great angle, light and eye contact. I might remove the darker part of the BG in the upper right and sharpen differently as the blacks look a bit noisy. Too bad the nictitating membrane is partially covering the eye. Do you have a frame where the eye is better visible?

I just beg to differ from the learned gentlemen, but I have may shots of this bird but in my opinion in this bird this is what I regard as a nictitating membrane, I may be wrong.

Lovely posture and light Loukie, indeed, I was happy to the get the species this time round. I think the nictitating membrane has just started to move across when you took the photo?

Apologies to the learned Gents/Ladies, Chris pointed out what the problem was in the front corner of the eye I took the image and worked on the eye a bit, does this look better, regrds

The eye looks great now but there is less detail in the blacks.

Axel I only concentrated on the eye, from ACR I went to CS3 and only worked on the eye, I will later take one with a good eye and take my time I just wanted to show a better eye, doing noise red. on feathers blows everything so I avoid it if possible.

Beautiful bird Loukie with a lovely perch and a superb low angle. The eye is better in the repost but Axel was right that there was a loss of detail in the blacks. Love seeing your images and always look forward to your next. Thanks for sharing.

Eye looks much better Loukie. Maybe the intial one had a slight Shadow/Highlight adjustment in PS after ACR

Gorgeous image. Beautiful pose, perch and sharp detail. The eye looks much better in the repost, but I do see the loss of detail in the blacks in the repost. I might also consider toning down or eliminating the oof blue in the upper right corner of the bg. Wonderful capture.
