Tried a different exposure in this image:
I spotmetered the breast of the bird and went to - 1 2/3 Exposure correction to show the last evening sun in the image.

I like it, but I don't know, if it works to you???

Mark III / 100 - 400 + 1.7 TC
1/ 320 sec / f 5.6 / ISO 320

Love to read about your opinion....

I might try a bit more off top and right but the lighting works wonderfully for me. It is a beauty.

I like dramatic lighting.....especially with a black BG. I think it works well but I'm thinking cropping a little tighter for more attention to the bird....and a little less of the BG. Well done.

Very interesting and creative Rosl. I would get him a little off center.

Thank you for your comments.
While cropping I tried to keep the end of the perch at the right side of the image. But I also tried to keep enough place for the birds view at the left side of the image.
But I think, I should cut the perch at the right, right?

I like the mood created and a lovely bird, wouldn't mind seeing a tad more detail in the shadows on the left side of the bird, perhaps Shadow & Highlights tool would bring this out a bit.

Hi Rosl,
I like the lighting here, very dramatic. Your bird is too centered in frame. I modified your composition and off centered him to the right; adding canvas to the left and reconstructing the perch...see if this presents better for you...
