This GBH head shot was taken at a local marsh. I was intrigued by the shape of its head and the color in the beak so I zoomed in tight and cropped using a 3:1 ratio during the post processing.

Joel,

Definitely a good pano subject. I like the framing and soft light is just right for Great Blue Herons as the head and checks are not blown out.

The Head Angle Police (HAP) from the avian forum will get you on the eye. The head is parallel but not the eye. If you are OK with some eye surgery, you can select the black pupil and the yellow around and in PSCS Edit > Transform > Warp you can pull the eye into shape as I have done here.

A nice image to go on a web page's header frame (usually the ones on top)...
