At least that's what they said on BugGuide.Net

Canon EOS1DsMKIII
Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/125 second = 0.008 second
Lens F-Number/F-Stop = 11/1 = F11
ISO Speed Ratings = 640
Original Date/Time = 2008:08:30 19:19:05
Shutter Speed (Exposure Time) = 1/125 second
Aperture = F11
Flash = Flash fired, compulsory flash mode
Focal Length = 180/1 mm = 180 mm

Cool subject, interesting pose and good sharpness and great to see you nailed the focus on the eyes. Love those antennae.

Many probably wouldn't even notice, but I would run NR on the BG, and only on the BG.

Thanks Robert... to be honest, I don't have a clue how to run Noiseware on just the background. I guess I could use the select tool? and then run NR? I ran it on the entire image during post processing but the settings were pretty light.

Michael I agree with Robert about running the NR on the BG but I don't use CS3's NR so I don't know what to tell you on how to do that. I would think selecting the BG and then converting to a smart filter would do it but I'm just not sure. (I use Neat Image.)

As for the image...very cool looking bug! You did a really nice job of exposure and his pose is priceless! The overall composition is really, really nice.

Hi Michael,

Here is a quick guide. Ctrl+J for a BG copy. Run NR, Plug in or PS. Then Press the add layer mask button at the bottom of the layers window. Then use a soft brush to reveal the bottom sharper subject layer. Run a smaller diameter brush when doing fine detailed areas. When done correctly there should be no traces or artifacts.
This technique will be in my new CD coming soon.

Thanks!! I'll give that a try... but more importantly where does one sign up for the CD?

If you can send me your email I can put you on my newsletter list that will have the release news as soon as I get close to a date,

Thanks,

I am about 60-70% along at this point.
