EOS 1DIII EF70-200 f/2.8 USM (non IS) ISO 400 1/1600 @ F/8. Focal length with crop factors about 240mm. None the less, a fairly substantial crop. To me, a less substantial crop gave the water an appearance of a horizon line. Also, since I caught this one just before the tail flipped up, there is downward movement of the whale and a tighter frame seemed OK. C & C welcomed.

Stephen,

I agree with your framing and crop. You have a very strong diagonal line with the tail and all the water rushing off it is an opposing line. Like this one a lot.

Stephen,
I agree with you. At times, the primary point of interest needs to be tightly framed. I like the water falling off from the tail fin. Thanks for sharing.

I like the tight framing here, it emphasizes the tail and the 'cascades'.

A powerful image here might need a little CW rotatton as well. Congrats.....

Hi Stephen,
Agree that the tight crop is appropriate. I would like to see if the CW rotation would improve...........but still very well done.
