Decided to try out a Sigma 300mm 2.8 lens at Metro Zoo earlier today.

Wooah...A face only a mother could love...:eek::eek::D:p;):) A very good capture Oscar. I like the close up pose. You display sharp details and bright colors. The diffused pastel lime green background makes your little guy pop. I like the catch light and reflection in the eye...good show...:cool:

Hi Oscar !!! It is a good performing lens and will work great for you if the focal length is right !!!
Would back down the USM The image has a strange look For this close range would stop down since you have a clear bg Neat reflection in the eye !!!

Hi Oscar - nice - love that BG - Agree with neede a bit more DOF.
The sigma 120-300 f2.8 is supposed to be even better than the 300 f2.8 in the sharpness stakes.

I love it, too. That eye! Dang! Agree that a little more DOF and a little less USM would improve it but good show, Oscar!
