I Love Dragonflies

I enjoy photographing Dragonflies, and I think some of them enjoy it too! I believe this is a Saffron-winged Meadowhawk.

The image posted here appears dark, and with much more muted colors than on my calibrated screens?

Hello Bob! I love the dragonfly in this image but I'm not quite as fond of the plant he's on. The back part appears to be blurred or fuzzy and the front seems hot and overexposed. I'm sure this was tricky with a 600mm lens - that doesn't leave a lot of room for DOF. I think it would have made for a more interesting image if you could have managed to get some better detail on at least the front half of the plant I think it would have led the viewer right up to the insect's eyes.

The wing position is great and the head is just what you what but I gotta go with Jules on the DOF and blown out foreground. It really detracts from the image.
