Selected a little different image for this before/after The RAW does not have the colors I was seeing when the image was made Processing changes were the following

Warmed the image before converting in LR Crop Noise ninja noise reduction Levels only moved mid tone slider to lighten a tad Made duplicate layer and multiplied Reduced opacity to 32% Reduced size for posting and sharpen

This is a beautiful example of a before and after, Al. You started with a strong image and made slight changes to make it really special. Do you apply Noise Ninja to the entire image or do you select out the bird?

In this case It was the entire image I wanted to include the dark areas of the bird !!!

That is indeed very impressive. What is the effect of multiplying the layers?

Excellent, Al. I am finding these B&A to be very helpful. i was with you until "Made duplicate layer and multiplied Reduced opacity to 32%". I'll have to look into this one. :)

You can make a duplicate layer by going to layer>duplicate layer or just hit command J Then in the layers pallet change the layer from normal to multiply Image will turn very dark You can lower the opacity to taste

Another option is to use the eraser tool and erase some of the mask Should play around with it !!!!'

This technique is excellent for bringing detail in whites with little detail

I rememner that bird! Result is lovely and the process instructional, but the final is a bit to yellow for both me and my memory <smile>
