This is the companion photo to one I posted a while back of a Broad-Winged Hawk in the rain. Here the rain has stopped and the hawk is drying itself off. These birds never stop looking for a meal, rain or shine. Photographed in Costa Rica at close to eye level. Here's a link to the other photo in which I go into a little more detail about the scenario: http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=10732

this is beautiful. I like the light and BG and the fact that there is still some water on the bird. composition and head angle are great.
the other shot of this bird is even better.

I really like this one Doug, great back view with a nice head turn. This would look great as a vertical with a bit more room above and below.

I like your presentation on this one. The perch cutting across the image is nicely balanced.

Great! I love to see the backs of birds, all the beautiful markings. Nice, complimentary bg, love the composition, don't suppose you can much catch light in the rain.

Nicely done. Love the excellent use of d-o-f and the way the colors of the bird and the colors of the perch match.

Hi Doug,
Love the pose on this one. The BG, colors, and details are excellent as well. Seems more suited to a vertical crop but I like it as presented.
