Noel,

I like the mode of this one. I tried a 2 width to 1 height pano on it cropping off the bottom and liked the pano look and lessened black at the bottom. Might be worth investigating.

I like the picture... The sky above the siluett is doing very much for the picture and it would be a bit scary even without the bird. I am thinking of Michael Jacksons song "Thriller" when I am seeing this :)

Thanks. :)

I know what you mean. Sunrise that day looked more like moonrise. I had earlier posted another image from the same morning.

Hi Noel,
I love the idea of a pano crop here as Robert suggested........just above the cloud on the UR and a bit more than 1/2 off the black base. Since this is leaning towards a sepia.........add a bit more contrast and either H&S or a warming filter.........this will acentuate the sepia tone and make a pretty strong pano out of Icarus Sun and bird pacement are right on..........as is exposure. Small tweaks will enhance even further.

Thanks guys. Only problem I have with squeezing it down to a pano crop is that it pretty much centers the sun vertically, and while rules (of thirds) are made to be broken, I can't quite decide whether that looks good in this case.

Hey Noel,
My crop puts it on the ROT diagonally..........and Robert and Artie's FAV........RO4ths vertically. About a 5 point mid tone lighten..........50% warming filter............USM 30 amount...........60 radius...........Thresh 0. I might go a hair more on top & bottom.....to make a true pano......but
Whadayathink?
Looks good to me!

Thanks for the rework, Roman. Yes, it does look very good that way. The wider format helps the clouds tell their story.

I love the repost. I thought the original was really nice but wanted to see more inside the shadows and the repost did that. Beautiful work to both of you!
