A 36x24 version of this image is currently on display at the American Museum of Natural History in Central Park, NYC. It is part of an exhibit containing BIF images from 4 photographers including myself. The exhibit will run thru 5/25/2009. The exhibit is a subset of the images in the book "On Feathered Wings" which features the work of seven photographers from various locations around the world. Excellent image and capture Jim,
This is a very powerfull composition. I like that dead, cold, caculating look. Detail is razor sharp and the colors are rich and vibrant...congratulation with your exibit in The Big Apple...:D:cool:

Jim I love this image. Was there any particular reason that the bird was flying straight towards you? It must have been an impressive sight in real life.

Yes - he was actualy flying towards a fence post perch in response to a recording of a GHO call. The post was between me and him. I got this shortly before he landed on the post.

absolutely fantastic shot. I like the fact that the head is a little to the right.

is the GHO active during the day a lot in Florida?
