Found some large mushrooms in the horse pasture; have no idea what kind they are. All comments and suggestions appreciated!

Well my first suggestion is that if you don't know what it is, don't eat it!

Otherwise I like this image. It borders on the abstract. It's very sharp. Excellent detail and the pattern, while not perfect, does pull me in. Nice job.

I love the texture and contrast and think you did a bang up job on the composition! I keep thinking it's a mop full of hair and then have to refocus on it being fungus gills! Very abstract and very cool image.

Thanks, Ed and Julie. Nope, Ed, not about to eat it!! Julie, it reminded me of a mop of hair too!

Liked the fuzzy (!!) patterns in this image. But am not sure about the sharpness (personally I feel its not so sharp). I first thought it could be due to camera shake - but u've got a pretty high shutter speed ( 1/600 ??? ) to take care of that aspect. That only leaves with one thing - most lenses lose sharpness as we narrow down the aperture that far (i.e. f/32) - mainly due to diffraction issues.
(Just a personal thought)

Kaushik, thanks for commenting. You are absolutely right, it is not tack sharp....I think my focus was just a tad off and I had to work it in post-processing to get it to look better. Or....might have been the aperture too, or both?
