This "Clavaria" - Coral fungus (Crown-tipped?) looked pretty cool for close ups with the 20mm extention tube, and even more so with the 36mm presented here. It has an almost eerie feel to it with those arms/fingers reaching out from under the ground. The lower "arms" are just about 1/2" tall.

Canon 40D + Tamron 28-75 2.8 @75mm + 36mm extention tube, 1/15s., f/7.1, ISO 800, -0.7 EC, flash @ +0.7 FEC, lens "stabilized" by forest floor debris hand piled underneath camear/lens (you gotta do what you gotta do!!)

It makes me think of a fossil tree with exposed roots, very interesting, Daniel :)

Very interesting composition, Dan. Almost "Night of the Living Dead"- ish! I like it. Nice job.

Hey Daniel, very cool abstract look, at first I thought it needed some more DOF, but the more I study it I think it works fine as is.

Ones imagination could run wild with this image. Cool capture and well done Daniel and great eye to see this.

Well conceived idea & well executed too. Liked the bit of ground u've shown in the bottom of the frame too.
Some portions look a bit too bright I feel (they r not blown but just a bit too bright).

If you'd cropped in to focus on the larger roots(?) and told us it was a limestone formation in a cavern, I would have believed you. Very cool!

Very cool, Daniel, my kind of macro! The little arms almost look like they're giving the upper arms a boost! Good eye! Wonder how it would look just slightly darker with a bit more contrast?
