I love your caption abd the bird sure looks the part.
I was going to ask why go f/10 until I did my math, f/8 would be wide open and you went the careful way with the 2X for sharpness. Well done. The Owl would have great camouflage in a tree trunk!

a beautiful sight! Looks a little soft, but understandable considering the techs., I like the look, and the environment makes the shot.

I really like the feather detail on this one and all the lovely patterns on the back. Looks like the GHO's down your way have a bit more red in their plumage than the ones we have up here in Nanaimo. Great background as well.

Great setting, pose and details. I don't mind that there is only one eye visible at all.

Thanks Fabs. I haven't done any testing to check the wide open use of the 2x yet but I thought I'd be better off trying it with stopping down a bit. As for the camouflage, I'll have to post one of my closer shots with nothing but tree bark as a BG for you.
