John, Great pose and BG - can you sharpen a bit more? Besides wet how's you Summer been? Bob

I like it overall, but agree that more sharpening and perhaps some increased saturation on the bird is in order. Thanks for posting!

Nice pose, perch and BG. Agree on more sharpening and might crop a bit off the right.

A beautiful bird with some nice head turn and catch light. I would have liked to see some more saturation. The soft feel here looks nice, though it can take some more sharpening. You might want to run noise removal tool for that background. I feel there's too much of space left in front of the bird.

You're on the right track John. I edited it in PS and adjusting the black point in Levels had a big impact on the image. I also did some selective sharpening of the bird, some NR on the BG, and boosted saturation a bit. What do you think?

Thanks Doug
I like everything you did except that the background to me is too lite or oversat now but to each his own

Excellent head turn with a nice re-post. The BG is very nice and makes your subject stand out!!

Doug, it seems your repost has given the waxwing a reddish cast...I prefer John's original colours. I like the perch the bird chose, looks great atop of it!

Hey, John. Nice work in tough conditions. I just got back from there myself, quite overcast and still raining some, but a sweeter spot on earth is tough to find.

Wonderful look-back head angle, perch, and of course--BKGR. I like all of them!
