This was photographer during my very first outing with the new lens. I lay flat on the ground and waited for the bird to approach me. These are ground birds and will come to you if you wait. The ground was uneven and it was in a small depression. Hence was able to get this kind of a foreground and background. The leg and tail cut is unfortunate, but then I like the DOF which I have got here.
I used the shadow/highlight tool to get some details in the bird as there was side lighting.
