Juvenile Snail Kite.

This is one of the juvies that we were waiting to capture but since the nest we had been watching did not produce any babies that fledged due to various reasons we were not sure we would have the opportunity to see them . This is a young snail kite from another nest and it is the first time that I have had the opportunity to see a young snail kite and needless to say I was thrilled. They are really beautiful and my only wish is that I regret not taking my 600mm.

Wonderful sharpness of the bird. I also like the wing position and clean BG. To my eye the OOF area in the LLC is a bit distracting. I wonder if a crop from the bottom to eliminate all the OOF stuff would be better?

This is a beauty! I have special place for raptor images and this one is so lively. The lighting has made this image special. The wing spread and the details captured are to be commended. Yes, I wish this was photographed from a 600mm.
