On Saturday afternoon I found these American Oystercatchers at Nickerson Beach on Long Island. The parent caught food and gave it then to the juvenile. I like the intimate mood in this image. It was the first time I found oystercatchers that were not skittish at all.

This is pretty much a perfect image. With most of the adult feeding young images posted here, there are head angle problems and folks defend their images by saying, "The chick was of course looking at the adult." This is proof that it can be done... Way to go Ax.

Great shot Axel. Colorful, detailed, and excellent interaction. Interesting to note the difference in eye color between juvenile and adult.

Lovely image and the posture of the birds are really special. The low perspective also adds to the intimate feel. Big thumbs up:)
