This was captured through the scratched-up window of a seaplane, returning to Kodiak Island from the Bear-Boat trip in June. I'm amazed at the clarity of the water and the fact that you can see the underwater portion of the whale. I had the 70-200 lens on the 1D Mark III.

Pretty good job for going through a scratched up window. It looks very blue on my monitor, perhaps some color correction would help.

I Tried adding some yellow then it needed a curves adjustment for increased contrast. The difference is minimal, I think.

I think that baby is well protected and in no danger !!!! From the plane not sure what settings you used? Normally you want to go wide open with as much speed as possible. Dof is no problem.

I like the overhead view in this image. Agree about maybe being a little bit sharper. Must have been a great experience anyway!
