Hi
I have been doing a bit of a concerted effort on Brown Hares recently. A short session last week coincided with a heavy summer thunder storm. After the storm, a few very soggy hares started to appear. Here is a photo of one shaking down to get rid of some excess water.

I like the action and the image itself is very unique as well. I like the fact you can see the water as well.

This is a great pose and his paws and the flying drops help it even more. It looks like his eye is nice and sharp but the nose isn't probably because of the shake. I don't know if sharpening would help but I'd give it a try.

Way cute and the water drops rock. Am I correct in assuming that he stood up suddenly? If not, a VERT would have been better.

Thanks for the replys and comments. I have spent many happy hours photographing these very shy animals and had some very close encounters including one walking over and sniffing my boot once! Over this time I have tried to work out a pattern to their behaviour and the only pattern I have found is...there is no pattern and some of their behaviour is extraordinary to say the least. The phrase 'mad as a hare' is a very apt description.
Artie you hit the nail on the head with assuming the hare suddenly stood up in terms of the photo being in landscape. They are always prone to going from sitting perfectly still to mad outbursts of behaviour which is one of the reason I love to photograph these beautiful animals.

Love it Rich Maybe with the unpredictable behavior is best to leave a little extra room for the unexpected I know with birds we do so sometimes Would love the vertical here !!! Excellent !!!
