Hello Everyone!
This is a detail from a snowy egret portrait that I took back in March in Florida. Didn't I get lucky with the BG and no HA police to worry about either!!! :D

400D 100-400 @ 400
ISO 200
AV F7.1 1/800
Exp comp @ -1
Sunny and very windy.

Perhaps I'll post the portrait tomorrow!
Best to all,
Nicki

Nicely done my lady...:)
I like it very much, the whites have good details and the color is in chech. I love the soft feel or mood ex[ressed in your composition; and the dark background sets it off...good show...

........ but what about the "BAP" :)

I keep looking at it and want to crop the top and have the bottom as a horizontal? Not sure why since it looks so good as presented. Love you vision for this one Isolating body parts is so neat !!! Big Time Congrats !!!

Great texture and detail in this image Nicki. I like it a lot. About the only thing I'd like to see is the bottom of the feathers in the RLC. Thanks for posting!

Nicki, as always you come up with something neat and different. I feel like I could reach out and touch the feathers. Nicely done and I think Alfred's crop suggestion might be a nice touch.

Hi Al,
Is this what you meant for the crop?

Nicki :)

my first thought was the same as doug's. thinking i want to see the bottom of the feathers on the lrc. it is awesome as presented!! the bg really does make it!! my vote is for the original in the orientation. i'm betting al wants to crop the top off cause the upper left looks hot and lacks the detail of the rest of the image. looking back again, i may like the horizontal too. just not quite as much as you did!!

I like the repost for the reason noted by Harold--those too-bright whites are now gone.

I like the repost better as well but wish those bottom feathers had made it into the scene on the right. What a beautiful abstract!
