Hi all,

I just returned from high arctic Svalbard. I spend most of my time photographing arctic foxes once again. I returned with a good series of interaction between the mother and her foxkits but I'll have to keep this series for myself for a while. This winter however I tried to get some winter-fur arctic fox images in captivity....but that wasn't really succesfull. I only ended up with 2 useable photographs (this is one of them). Early winter 2009 I hope to travel to Svalbard to search for these little creatures in their natural habitat like I did this summer. It won't be easy...as during winter they wander around on the frozen fjords...but I'm gonna give it a try anyway. I hope to share more winter images with you guys next year.

The Doest hoek strikes again ;) I was really amazed by your persitence to get a shot like this, which was paid off with this beautiful shot eventually. Love everything about it Jasper especially the placement and piekeboo look of this lovely little fox, good things come to those who wait. :)

The solitude and inquisitiveness make this image for me. You might try to brighten up his left eye to match his right.

Nice capture Jasper. I would probably lighten the iris of the left eye, like Mike suggested.

Sweet capture Jasper and nice to have you back !!!

This reminds me of any image by Andy (Rouse) of a mountain gorilla !!! Love it !!!

Thanks for the comments all! Regarding the eyes.....they're different colours...so that's why one's dark and the other one's bright.

That is very nice indeed! I hope I can see let alone capture when I go to Svalbard next September, strangely enough with Andy Rouse.

Awesome photo Jasper! What strikes me is that the white of the fur is so completely different from the snow, which means they should be easy to find on those frozen fjords:D.... good luck with it.

Outsanding image Jasper. I think that a little less room at the left , just a bit, would improve the composition. Terrific eye contact and very good control of the exposure.

The demure peek-a-boo is formidable. Simplicity of composition delivers the punch :)
