Good looking bird !!! I like the pose head angle and bg Really nice. Not crazy about the perch. What happen to its beak? Is it normal?

I think there was a boat named after this little guy in the America's Cup a while back !!!

Nice photo. Agree the perch is poor but you get what you get. I always wanted to see a picture of this bird since learning that the soundtracks of jungle noises in the old Tarzan movies were heavily laden with kookaburra calls.

Hi Al - yep beak is normal --- I have been trying to get a shot of the RARE black kookaburra's, I think they have only just been recognised as a sub species - still trying :)
