Does anyone know the status of the Gannet Colony in Portland?? S.A.

Thinking of heading over that way.

I was there Christmas time last year. The Gannets are still there, with many now on the mainland (Point Danger) as Lawrence Rocks reached capacity.

Tthe colony is blocked to public access via fencing and the colony is guarded by Italian Meremma dogs due to fox and other feral animals attacking the colony. So you don't get great photographic opportunities unless you can arrange a tour, we happened to be there when the keepers showed up to care for the dogs, so we asked if they could take us a little closer for better photo opportunities.
