Good spring with these birds in the swamp and after I learned of the specific habitat then able to find them most mornings. Job was to get them out in the open and do what I wanted. Surprised of how bright they were with washes of yellow after looking at other photographs of them from others.

Exposure looks good, and I like the dark BG. Did you work on the eye? It has that cookie-cutter look that Artie sometimes refers to. I also wish for a better perch as this one has an ugly tip (although good job of getting it in the open...) Lastly, the composition is a bit cramped, more room would help.

Actually the cramped look is my fault ,since pic has plenty of room. Interesting about the limb tip since the original pic had a fresh white broken appearance and I tried to change the look. It was like a beacon drawing your eye to it.The eye was manipulated. The eye shine is original however there was a small rim of blue steel eye I worked on. Also the eye was selectively sharpened.
