At this point all the Grasshopper Sparrow images that a group of us had created featured the subject on a perch. Nothnig wrong with that of course, but when I noticed that this individual kept coming to the ground at the same spot I lay down in the hopes it would land in front of me. Of course it did, and since these birds spend alot of time on the ground I was glad to get a photograph one from down there - and out in the open:) I debated getting rid of the green in URC but opted in leaving it as a hint of the grassy habitat nearby.
