Hi Chris,

I been looking at this image for a bit. All the components, for the most part, look good. But when I put them all together, the image looks a little flat to me. The background looks good. The rock "perch" also looks fine. The scorpion suffers just a bit from harsh light on the back but its the head that seems to get lost for me. This may just be my old eyes but it looks like it needs a bit more contrast. Let's see what some younger eyes have to say.

Hey Chris, good details and I like the diagonal on the rock and critter. Ed points out it looks a little flat and maybe just a slight adjustment on the conrast would help that.

Chris,

Very cool subject. Ed made a good point, curves would correct the flat look in a second.

The image looks like top or top-back lit with fill. A diffuser would have really improved the light quality.
