A couple of these have been flying around the yard, chasing each other. I think they're recent fledglings.
Canon 30D, Canon 500mm/f4 L IS + 1.4 tc at 700mm
1/500 sec at f/5.6, ISO 800
Noise Ninja noise reduction, levels endpoints and mid-tones adjustments, some cropping for composition.
Comments appreciated.

Nice perch and soft light. I wish for a bit more head turn and it needs more sharpening. Maybe a slightly higher color temperature, too. There seems to be a green cast. Keep them coming!

I was going to say more sharpening too, but Axel's repost says it all. A wonderful capture and a little better light and head angle would make this super! :)

Great job of sharpening by Axel as in the ORIG it looks as if sharp focus is on the leaves well beyond the bird...

My original post was an export out of Lightroom, with after my Photoshop adjustments which included a little bit of capture sharpening, but no creative or output sharpening.
With this version, I did some creative sharpening and resized it in CS3, then output sharpening using Bruce Fraser's High Pass filter technique.
I certainly like this version better...what do others think?

The re-post is far better than the ORIG but Axel's is actually sharper on the eye than your repost (without looking oversharpened...)
