Hi James,

Another good looking butterfly here.

James the focal point looks to be a little behind the butterfly and as my eye moves forward toward the butterfly's head, the image starts looking fuzzier to me. Also it looks very noisy which shouldn't be at ISO 400. The color in the background looks kind of funky - particularly the greens. The green in the UL doesn't look natural to me and the darker green in the upper right looks very noisy. And the yellowish-green tint to the buds in the UR also looks like an artifact of PP.

Let's see what others have to say. Maybe some of this is just me. Believe me, I know butterflies are tough. I don't focus on them but I have only gotten two decent butterfly images all season.

Around here that would be a Northern Crescent. Surprised that at f/11, the left wing seems a bit oof? Maybe it is the plane of the right wing compared to the plane of the camera?
Nice to get butterflies on flowers rather than gravel road beds. Wish they didn't want to fly when the light is so harsh.
