Hi Ken,
Very nice composition. Beautiful color. I like it a lot. I just wish you would have gotten the front stamen (or is it a pistel) in focus. Maybe if you would have stopped down a little bit more.

Great subject choice to get the stamens grouped together for a better focus. I've always had problems handling the focus or not of the pistil. Too small an aperture sometimes means the tiniest breeze ruins your shot, and also the BG may be too sharp. I've toyed a bit with a second exposure at (usually) the same aperture, focused on just the pistil, then blending them in PS or with HeliconFocus or similar.
Love the interplay of the lines of the stamens and the curves in the petals. I think I would like a little more field of view here at top and right, but not so much to move the stamen group to the horizontal center.
(Ed: the way I remember stamen vs. pistil: generally one pistil, the female portion, surrounded by lots of staMENs, the male; more on simple daylily and floral biology at http://www.backyardnature.net/fl_dayli.htm and http://www.backyardnature.net/fl_stand.htm)

Ken, I liked the DOF here. I might have opted for a little more space on top (very little).
Colours r neat & liked the sharp stamen.

Looks great Ken. The light is superb. The comp is very nice.
The only thing I would do would be a add a little more space at the top as Kaushik mentioned.
Also what was the ISO, the pinks in the left look a little noisy. I would run some NR so it doesn't distract so much..

Thanks Robert!
The ISO was 400. Could the "noisy" look be due to jpg compression?

Hey Ken, I like the comp, colors, and agree maybe just a slight more on the top.
