This was taken last week at Viera early in the morning just as the sun was beginning to rise. There were four and they stopped for awhile to preen so I seized the opportunity to capture a few images.

I really like the pose, details, soft light and setting in this one.

I really like the pose on this one, Judy. Often, images of preening birds aren't all that interesting but this one is very nice with the drooped wing, raised foot, and backward-pointing head. The sharpness, composition, light, and background are also very well done. The bird looks rather soggy (I like that too because it is different than the norm). Had it been raining or was this just from walking around in heavy dew or fog?

feather detail and colors are fantastic Judy! I like this one!!! If anything maybe a little more room on the left...but being picky!

I was there Saturday morning and did not see anyone so I guess you were there on Sunday. Nice work and love the grass background.

Hi Judy! Congratulations. It isn't easy to get an interesting shot of these birds and you managed it quite well.
I agree with all the other comments. It looks like you had a successful trip to Viera. I'm loving
Santa Fe.

Thanks Steve for your comments. To answer your question it had not been raining while I was at Viera in the morning but there had been a big storm the night before so everything was pretty wet. It is always fun to capture these beauties in differnent situations.
