now that's a view Jim.....one could go a lifetime and not get this shot.
The little slice into the surf is so sweet.

might try cropping a bit off the bottom....just the way I see it, but stunning as is sir

That wing touching the water just made my day, I love, simply love this shot!
It has some hot white spots but nothing that can take away such quality.
Congratulatiuons!

Excellent capture Jim,
This bird is really connecting with nature; I love the touching of the wing in the surf...

Yes, that wing touching the water is a huge bonus! I would crop away the lowest dark band. I wish the white of the crashing surf would extend to the very top. Very cool view though, the angle is superb.

It was just that...the top!

I could make it go all the way to the top but it is what I saw :)

I have to contemplate the dark band on the bottom...I'll give a revised crop a try tomorrow.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Hey Jim, I think that some images only deserve a "slap on the back" and this is one of um IMO! Great image as is.

I really like the comp and the way the wing is just touching the water. Also like the waves behind the subject. You can almost hear the crashing waves.

Wonderful work, especially like the wingtip drag onto the water...

For a bird that is a molting mess, molting out of breeding plumage, you made it look damned good. Love esp. the soft light and the full downstroke. Great view of the molt too. My only wish is for a bit more room above. All in all fabulous.
